About Us
Special Needs and Possibilities was created by a group of mothers, caregivers, and mentors who recognized a growing need within our community for young adults with special needs ages 18 and older. Once the school years end, many individuals lose the structure, social interaction, and consistent activities that once filled their days. Families are often left searching for meaningful opportunities that continue to provide connection, purpose, and inclusion.
Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where young adults can gather weekly to socialize, participate in activities, develop independence, and form lasting friendships. Through structured programming, games, social outings, life skills activities, and community engagement, we hope to bridge the gap that so many families experience after the school system ends.
One of the inspirations behind this organization comes from our own children. As parents, caregivers, and mentors, we have seen firsthand how much our young adults thrive when surrounded by friends, routine, encouragement, and community. Many participate in wonderful programs like sports and recreational groups, but there is still a need for something more consistent - a place where they truly feel like they belong!
That is the heart behind Special Needs and Possibilities!
Our mission is to provide consistent, structured opportunities for young adults with special needs (18+) to build friendships, develop life skills, and experience a strong sense of belonging within their community.
“because the need doesn’t end at 18!”
